■BEACON” is an album that represents a culmination of MORGXN's artist career; the seminal work.
On creating the record, MORGXN wrote, ”I'm someone who has found their voice later in life. I marvel at those with confidence in every step. That hasn't been my journey. The day my dad passed - Sept 1, 2015 - I grabbed a blank journal and I quickly jotted down the singular word : backbone. 7 years later I may have found its meaning. Was I looking for one？ Was I trying to create one？ Was I commenting on a lack of spine I see？ Or was I merely reflecting a deep hope to find my power in a world that will give me every chance to doubt myself. That is where our journey begins. I sang about ‘Home' for about 6 years before I actually moved home to Nashville. The irony feels both poetic and powerful. It took letting it all go - the dream, the vision, the fear - and living back in the place where most of my demons started. I knew that coming home was going to be about confronting the parts of my past that still feel tender and moving in the direction of a life that had a bit more structure. Joseph Campbell's “the hero's journey” lays out this template for a hero across time and place. I for once put myself in the hero's seat of my own story and rode it home. I discovered a backbone, I discovered love, and I mostly discovered that the journey is the destination. Sometimes you know where you're going and sometimes you're lost but either way you're in it and that's where life happens.”

”Where I'm From” was written just MORGXN moved back to their hometown of Nashville. On the track they said, ”I didn't even think I knew I was going. Life happens to me suddenly all the time. And this one was about knowing that no matter how far I go I'll always know who I am. And where I'm from. The cycle ends. And continues. It all depends on how you look at it.
