Award-winning violin (Kai Fumiko) and piano (Osuga Kaori) duo Rosco offer a second album, ”Racoondog”, in total contrast to their previous one. This album consists of 8 popular songs chosen and arranged by 8 prominent Japanese composers, including Natsuda Masakazu, Suzuki Haruyuki and Isaji Sunao. The songs range from 'Rainy Days and Mondays' by Carpenters and 'Casablanca Moon' by Slapp Happy, to Japanese classic 'Shojoji no Tanukibayashi' by Nakayama Shinpei. ”It was quite a challenge, but as a result our musical expressive-ness broadened” one member says. Their performance freely crosses the boundaries of contemporary, jazz, bossa nova and pop music. Now Rosco entertain？ Yes, they do in their own provocative way.
